6 years ago, I graduated with my associates degree in nursing. When I graduated, I told everyone my goal was to become a nursing instructor some day down the road. To do this, I would have to go back to college for my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN). Then I would have to go back again for my master's degree in nursing or some avenue of education.
For 6 years I have continuously said, "One day I will go back and get my degree." For 6 years I've always found an excuse why I couldn't do it....too expensive, no time, our son needed me more, etc., etc. This week I decided that it has to stop now! IT'S TIME TO DO THIS! For me, for my family, for our future.
As of today, I have applied for a RN to BSN completion program. One night a week for 14 months, and I will have my degree that I have longed for for 6 years. The degree that will open up doors for my career and our family's future. With any luck, I will start classes in July! I can't believe I am finally doing this, but God has finally put an opportunity in front of me that made me realize this is something I must do.
I'm so excited, yet nervous and scared all at the same time! It's one more step closer to checking something else off of my bucket list!
I will keep you all posted as soon as I know anything more about starting this new adventure :)
